On May 12th 2011, our city of Toronto, one of the world’s most diverse cities, welcomed Pierre Poulain – philosopher, photographer and author from Israel, to share his international experiences enriching multicultural communities through a culture of dialogue. We were excited when New Acropolis Toronto contacted us to document this exclusive event.
Pierre Poulain’s visit to Toronto, part of a Canadian tour that included stops in Ottawa and Montreal, was developed in connection with UNESCO’s World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. The tour was organized by Rockhurst Careers Group and New Acropolis Canada, with the gracious support of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, the Embassy of Israel in Canada, the University of Toronto, Mississauga Visual Arts Department, the Centre for Social Innovation, the City of Ottawa, the City of Gatineau and a number of corporate sponsors.
Special appearances were also made by Simone Chitiz (Israeli Consulate of Cultural Affairs in Toronto) and Francoise Soria (Director of New Acropolis Canada).
